Experimental Farm, Rideau Canal and Dow’s Lake Bike Tour

This 2-hour bike tour allows you to see some of Ottawa’s most beautiful and well-known gardens, parks and waters. To start this tour, we’ll be riding on both sides of the Rideau Canal and cross one of Ottawa’s locks to make our way to Dow’s Lake. From here, we’ll cruise through the Experimental Farm, which holds some of Ottawa’s most beautiful parks and gardens. During this journey, you’ll learn about the Canal and the Experimental Farm’s history and its purpose today. Our small organized groups will allow you to ask any questions to our friendly guide and make the most of this experience.

Cycle along rivers, lakes, parks and gardens to see Ottawa’s natural beauty.
01. RentABike
We’ll be starting the tour near the end of the Rideau Canal at RentABike’s conveniently located shop.
02. Rideau Canal ( East )
Our tour will begin by riding along the East side of the Rideau River.
03. Hartwell Locks
Walk on the Hartwells locks that overlook the Rideau Canal.
04. Dominion Arboretum
Ride through the picturesque trees and nature in Dominion Arboretum park.
05. Central Experimental Farm
Cruise through the paved paths of Ottawa’s well-known Experimental Farm.
06. Ornamental Gardens
Take a few minutes to breathe in and enjoy the colours of the flowers at the Ornamental Gardens.
07. Dow’s Lake
Make your way around Dow’s Lake while riding on a boardwalk and bike path along the water.
08. Rideau Canal ( West )
Slowly make your way back by riding along the west side of Ottawa’s well-known canal.
09. RentABike
You’ll be finishing your tour at your starting location.
