History of World Heritage Rideau Canal, comprised of a chain of lakes, rivers and artificial channels, connects Ottawa River at Ottawa/Bytown to Lake Ontario at Kingston

Starting on World Heritage Rideau Canal, we follow both Ontario and Quebec sides of the magnificent Ottawa River. Includes Victoria Island, site of Algonquin First Nation and 19th century lumber trade.

Starting on Rideau Canal we pass through Univsersity of Ottawa, SandyHill and Rideau River to Rideau Hall and grounds, official residence of Canada’s Governor General since 1867  (set on an idyllic 79 acre urban oasis with fountains and ceremonial trees planted by visiting dignitaries).

The World Heritage Rideau Canal pathway takes us through the Dominion Arboretum and Commissioners Park: an extraordinary 26hectare display of flowers and trees since 1889.

This includes the Macoun Memorial Garden, the Lilac walk, the Rock garden, the Perennial Border and the Explorer Rose garden.

Bicycle Flat Repair Course

Keep yourself riding, learn how to fix a basic flat when out on the road!

This class will cover how to fix a flat on your bicycle. You will learn about the tools required for the job, proper technique, how to recognize the likely cause of a flat and get a chance to do it all yourself with instruction. All materials will be provided and no prior knowledge is required. This is a basic, beginner level course. Tools and parts available for purchase after the course if desired. Low student to instructor ratio. Ladies only courses will be offered as well if there is interest!

Cost: 25$ per person.

Basic Bicycle Maintenance Course

Keep your bike running smoothly, reduce your maintenance costs and get the most out of your bike!

This course will cover the basics of maintaining your bicycle and teach you to recognize basic signs of wear to know when parts should be replaced. You will learn about how often and how to inflate your tires, cleaning and oiling your chain, cleaning your bicycle, when to check and consider replacing your brake pads, chain, cables and how often to get a tune up. Low student to instructor ratio. Ladies only courses will be offered as well if there is interest!
